Comprehension
Comprehension, at its core, refers to the ability to understand and make meaning from information, whether written, spoken, or otherwise presented. It's more than just recognizing words; it involves actively engaging with the material and constructing meaning based on the background knowledge, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, NCIL is a partnership led by Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, along with Florida State University and RMC Research Corporation. Together, NCIL serves as a comprehensive national resource center dedicated to advancing evidence-based teaching methods for students with literacy-related disabilities, including dyslexia.
