Fluency, in the context of reading, refers to the ability to read accurately, quickly, and with appropriate expression. It involves reading with a smoot, effortless flow, as if it were automatic, while still understanding the meaning of the text.

Footsteps to Brilliance

 

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools is offering the Footsteps2Brilliance Bilingual Reading Program for FREE to all San Bernardino County families to help their children, birth to 3rd grade, prepare for kindergarten and succeed in school. Learn on the program 15 minutes everyday!

Lit2Go

 

Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material for your classroom.

NCIL

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, NCIL is a partnership led by Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, along with Florida State University and RMC Research Corporation. Together, NCIL serves as a comprehensive national resource center dedicated to advancing evidence-based teaching methods for students with literacy-related disabilities, including dyslexia.
